Two Weeks Later : 4:04 p.m. : January 29, 2004

I feel weird because I haven’t updated for two weeks. Things have been kind of hectic and weird.

I have to say one good thing before I go over everything – I was so mad and sad and all that today because I totally thought that my CD player with my favorite CD in it was gone forever because I left it in my classroom yesterday. I thought someone took it, because I went in the classroom this morning and it was gone. But I *just* went to the office to check to see if someone had turned it in (unlikely, because it was a CD PLAYER) and it was there! That made me so happy!! Yay!

Also, check here for Academy Award stuff. I’m trying trying trying to convince my friends to have an Oscar party. That would be so much fun.

Anyway. So. Tahoe. The weekend before last weekend.

Tahoe was great. I went with my photography teacher, her boyfriend (a weird Swiss dude who kind of scared me), my friend Katelyn, and a girl named Monica who it turns out I was in a play with a year and a half ago. I had a lot of fun – I really don’t own the kind of clothes you are supposed to wear in the snow. OK, starting from the beginning. We took the train to Sacramento, and the bus to where we would be staying. On the bus, I was sitting with Katelyn, and we were talking and laughing. She has this weird affect on me where I start laughing like a maniac and that sets her off, and then once we’ve both calmed down we just look at each other and we’re off again. It’s crazy. I need more people like that in my life here, at home. So we were talking, and we notice this guy is sitting in front of us. He’s sort of cute, and we see that he’s writing something, and we want to know what he’s writing. Because of my grandma (she talks to EVERYBODY), when I see some cute guy absolutely alone, and I am already in an outgoing/hyper mood, I talk to them. And Katelyn totally wants me to talk to this guy. So I start talking to him, and we find out that he is a musician, he is twenty years old (double damn) and on his way to Reno to visit family. The three of us talk for the entirety of the bus ride, which was awesome because he had SO MUCH TO SAY about so many different things. It was amazing. We actually met up with him on the bus ride BACK on that Monday. How weird. It was like fate tied us together. Anyway, so we found out that when we had been sitting behind him and talking about him that first night on the bus, he had heard us talking and giggling (but not what we were saying) and he was inspired to write a song. And he’s going to put it on his new CD. And say in the little packet thing that comes with every CD that we (Katelyn and I) inspired it. Ha-HAH. Yesss. Anyway. V. nice.

When we were actually in Tahoe, we had so much fun. We ate horribly, though. In my house, we are health freaks. Not as much as some people, but nothing in our house contains trans-fats or hydrogenated oil or anything. We grocery shop at healthy stores (e.g. not Safeway). It was weird in Tahoe, because we basically ate all the crapola we wanted. It was weird. I’m not used to eating so much junk. I feel like a snob, saying that, but my body (food wise) has been such a temple for so long that it feels weird for me.

We got to go to the local skating rink (at night and during the day) to take pictures, which was awesome. There were so many cute kids, so many PEOPLE. I love people. Everyone is beautiful in his or her own way. Everyone’s face can make a beautiful picture. Or if not beautiful, at least provocative or conveying some kind of message.

I love photography. I feel like it’s something I’m good at, and that I can get recognized for. Why do I say that? Well, every student of my photo teacher from this summer got to put one print in a show at the local Town Hall. (I got to put one of mine in.) And the Town Hall people have gotten such a good response from people who’ve seen the show that they want to do another one. So my teacher asked me, Katelyn, and Monica to each get together a series of 8-10 prints from our Tahoe trip to put in a show – just for the three of us! I am so excited.

I’ve had a crazy two weeks, working on schoolwork, etc. I went to a camp reunion at Ellie’s house on Friday. I was planning to only go for Saturday night, but I had such a stupid day at school on Friday that I desperately wanted to go to Ellie’s house that night and spend more time with people who I don’t feel like I have to be on my toes with 24/7. Lucky for me, Tamar had called me, and it turned out that she was coming right by where I live so I caught a ride with her. And the party was amazing. We went to see Finch’s play called HEMP! The Musical, which was so funny. It was all about how different history would be without hemp. Heheh.

I learned how to hypnotize people. There are so many people here I want to try it on, because I think it could really help them.

I have to go now, because I have to meet my dad.

I need a hug.

On the bright side, I found my CD player! WOOT!

I also might be going to this music/celebration type thing on Saturday with a bunch of people. We’ll see how that goes.
